While it's not always certain that a good player will be able to make an instant hit or impact after leaving a particular club and League for another, it is rather becoming a regularity to see even great players fail to live up to expectations. This has been the case of Ghanaian international midfielder Thomas Partey since arriving at Arsenal from Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid last summer.
The combative midfielder decided to quit Spain and left the Rojiblancos in favor of a move to the English Premier League to join Arsenal. After completing the transfer to the Emirates club last summer, the hopes of Arsenal fans rose very high. They thought they had completed a marquee signing and could not wait to see him start his career at the club.
The Ghanaian Premier League will see the second round of games commence this weekend at several match venues in the country. The league's players are all gearing up for this second round of fixtures which could end up having a huge impact on whether or not they have a successful season, and managers have continued to introduce several new tactics in order to secure victories over their counterparts.
The clubs close to the relegation zone know that this is a fresh opportunity for them to improve on their game and try to bring themselves out of such unwanted position. As for the teams atop the table, they know they must do enough to cement their positions up there and do everything they can to not fall from the top.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh update on the injury sustained by Thomas Partey following the north London derby. The Ghana international was recently out of action for five weeks with a thigh problem, but he managed to return to training in the lead-up to the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
As such, Arteta chose to play him from the starting lineup against Jose Mourinho’s side and it proved a costly mistake as he suffered a recurrence of the same injury before the half-time whistle. The Gunners struggled over the course of the north London derby where they were beaten 2-0 and following the game, Arteta issued a worrying update on Partey’s fitness.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has hardly played for the Gunners since his big money transfer last summer. The Ghana international has struggled with a thigh injury for the majority of his time at Arsenal whom he joined when they paid the release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract last year. Arsenal paid €50m (£45m) to sign the Ghana midfielder to make him the fourth most expensive signing in their history behind the attacking trio of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-EmerickAubameyang and Nicholas Pepe.
Thomas Partey made his debut for Arsenal as a late substitute in the Premier League defeat at Manchester City. The Ghana player couldn't do anything as Raheem Sterling scored the lone goal of the game in the first half to condemn the Gunners to their second league defeat of the season.
Ghana top flight giants Asante Kotoko have recorded their first win of the new league season. Asante Kotoko had to wait for the matchday five clash with Legon Cities to secure their maiden three points of the new Ghana Premier League season. The game played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night saw Asante Kotoko beat Legon Cities 1-0 at home. The Porcupine Warriors got the victory courtesy the strike from Osman Ibrahim on eleven minutes. Legon Cities subbed on Ghana football legend Asamoah Gyan in the second half of the game, but the former Sunderland hitman was unable to orchestrate the equaliser that would have given his team a point at least.
The win was able to catapult Maxwell Konadu's men to fourth spot on the Ghana Premier League table with five points from their three games. They are three points off league leaders Karela at the top of the table though they have played one game less than the summit recipients. For Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan and Legon Cities, the slim loss means that they are still waiting for their first win of the season in the Ghana Premier League this term after five games.
Paul Pogba could be an Asante Kotoko S.C. player if the club's Chairman dream of signing him for the club comes to reality.
It is reported in the media that Manchester United is willing to sell Paul Pogba following his years of inconsistency for the club since his arrival from Juventus in the then world-record fee of £89m. Paul Pogba, who has received heavy criticism, especially from Man United legends, played poorly against Arsenal last weekend in the English premier league and caused the penalty that contributed to Man United defeat against Arsenal, thus, giving Arsenal their first win in Old Trafford in 14 years.

Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey has advised Thomas Partey to stay put in the Spanish La Liga rather than pursuing a move to England or Italy. The 26-year-old has developed into a key player for Atletico Madrid over the past few years but reports have emerged that he could favour a move to Arsenal at the end of the season.
