Anthony Annan came out in support of Ghana coach Charles Akonnor by saying that the tactician will not be able to succeed without proper support from behind the stage.Akonnor came in as the replacement forKwasi Appiah earlier this year.Appiah had been in charge of the team for more than 24 months, but there were a lot of controversies during his reign. Meanwhile,Akonnor has been hit by a problem immediately after starting his regime, as the coronavirus pandemic means that the 46-year-old has not been able to take charge of his first match even now.
“I don’t really know much about coach CK but I heard he coached some big clubs in Ghana. Moreover when I heard about his appointment, I knew Ghanaians saw some qualities in him.The authorities cannot appoint just anybody to handle the Black Stars so I think he deserves the post. We have to give him all the support he deserves to succeed with the Black Stars as he was a former player and knows the national team. Just like we supported Kwesi Appiah when he was appointed, we must do our best to support C K Akonnor as well,” said Annan.
