Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has thanked his teammates and coaching staff for placing the faith in his abilities. The Ghana international spent the previous campaign on loan with the Eagles from Swansea City and he was frustrating to watch with just one goal in the league from 20 appearances.
In an interview covered by Ghanasoccernet, Ayew was thankful for the trust placed on him by both the players and the backroom staff at the Capital outfit, he told: “First of all, I’d want to thank my teammates and coaching staff for having the faith in me this season. Every time I go on the pitch I look to fight for this team, for these colours and I try to do my best.”
The Eagles have lacked the presence of a regular goalscorer upfront over the past few campaigns and they have netted just 26 goals from 29 games. However, they have still managed to attain 10 victories in the process and that has helped them stay clear of the relegation zone for most of the current campaign.
The Eagles are currently on 39 points from 29 matches and that sees them occupy the 11th spot on the table. However, they are just within four points off a European qualification spot for next season and have an outside chance of catching their rivals, provided they can maintain the current run o form. Hodgson’s side have won three league games on the bounce.
